Flux Laboratory is happy to welcome multidisciplinary artist Simon Feltz, who will present on October 19th two contemporary dance pieces: “Phase” and “Entre deux Rives”.

Simon Feltz and Karline Marion began their collaboration at “L’Opéra de Lyon” in 2011. After their experience dancing together in many productions, they decided to deepen their complicity by creating a duo: “Phase”.
Above all, co-writing means comprehending individual differences, and building on them in order to recreate a common identity.
A relationship is created between two people, a first pattern is designed within space. Different episodes give rise to a structure, and the elements going through it participate in the elaboration of its identity. Images reappear and the initial conception evolves without disappearing; it’s always there.
“Phase” rolls out its Ariane’s thread and relentlessly takes us back to its premises.

“Entre deux rives” tries to explore the oh-so subjective relationship that exists between pain and our freedom to control our own selves, our freedom over our our continued existence or our death. To what extent are we in control of our own bodies? Time standing still for people running with the hare, hunting with the hounds, time for confrontation as well for those who refuse to consider death as a liberating and necessary resort. Don’t we all want to be free?
